Revealed: Who are the impact players nominated by GT and MI in match 9 of IPL 2025

The 9th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) will see a high-octane battle between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday, March 29.

The match between the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans and the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians is being hosted by the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Hardik Pandya is returning to the Mumbai Indians playing XI after sitting out of the first match against Chennai Super Kings due to the ban he faced because of the slow over-rate from last season.

He is also back where his booing first began in IPL 2024. The all-rounder faced a hostile reception from the very stands that had cheered him wholeheartedly the previous two seasons with Gujarat Titans.

However, a lot has changed since last year as he has emerged as a national hero, playing a major role in India's triumph in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Pandya would be hoping to help MI bounce back from a 4-wicket defeat at the hands of CSK. On the other hand, GT, who lost their tournament opener to PBKS by 11 runs, would also be hoping to win the match.

IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians win the toss and opt to field

Speaking at the toss, MI skipper Hardik Pandya said that they are not aware of the exact nature of the pitch and the dew factor made them opt to bowl first. He said:

"We'll bowl first. The simple reason is we don't know how the pitch will play, plus the dew factor. Only last year we played on black soil, otherwise we have been playing on red soil. Last year, we had the game under wraps but couldn't finish it. The prep has been fantastic, the boys are excited and we back each other, be there for each other. Very happy stage. I come back, and the others we are keeping the options open. Always about playing good cricket, planning right and enjoying the game."

Meanwhile, the GT skipper Shubman Gill said that they would be looking to assess the conditions quickly and do a good job. He said:

"Batted first plenty of times here, so nothing changes for us. It is all about assessing the conditions and seeing what target we can set, and if we are chasing it is about how to get to that target. We have got the same team, might see one change with the impact sub. We want to have a lefty-righty combination (on openers).
