The 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is seeing a high-profile battle between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday, April 9.

The match between the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) is being hosted by the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans have been having a great run in the tournament, winning three games on the trot after losing their opening clash to the Punjab Kings by a close margin.

The top-heavy batting order of GT and the varied bowling attack have been certainly doing a good job. The batting unit beyond Sherfane Rutherford still seems untested. However, GT have power-packed finishers who are more than capable of ending the games on a high.

On the bowling side of things, Mohammed Siraj has been leading the pace attack very well, and with no contributions from Rashid Khan, Sai Kishore has handled the spin duties very well.

Talking about Rajasthan Royals, they have endured a mixed outing as they have two wins and as many losses from four games to their name.

They suffered a huge thrashing in their opening game against SRH, but the bowling unit has significantly improved since then. Jofra Archer's form has been the biggest positive for RR as he has bowled with express pace.

RR batters Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer have also been in good touch and would want to continue their form. Talking about the head-to-head record, GT hold a one-sided 5-1 edge over RR.

IPL 2025: Rajasthan Royals win the toss and opt to field

After winning the toss, the Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson told Ravi Shastri that they made the decision to bowl first because of the dew factor in the second innings. He said: "We would like to bowl here first because of the conditions. There is going to be dew here."

Meanwhile, GT skipper Shubman Gill revealed that they also wanted to bowl first. He elaborated:

"I would have bowled first as well. Looking at the past few matches, dew has come in during the second innings but we have batted first here. We are taking it one game at a time and not keeping track on how many games we have won. If the top 3 or 4 are doing the job then I am happy with that. We have had a really good home run and hopefully nothing changes for us, support from the fans has always been tremendous. No changes for us."
