The list of impact players nominated for the 54th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the Punjab Kings and the Lucknow Super Giants has officially been revealed.
Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are facing off each other on Sunday, May 4, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.

Punjab Kings have got a great team and are playing really solid cricket at the moment, but one thing that has not been good for them is their record at home.
After playing in Mullanpur, they will shift base to Dharamshala, where they have won just five games out of 13 that they have played. PBKS have lost all four matches they have played in Dharamsala since 2023, with their last victory at the venue coming way back in 2013.
Punjab Kings would be hoping to better their record at home by beating Lucknow Super Giants, and a win in their previous match against the Chennai Super Kings would surely have filled them with a lot of confidence.
Indian batters of the Punjab Kings have been performing well, especially Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, and Shreyas Iyer. And on the bowling side of things, Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, and Yuzvendra Chahal have got rhythm on their side.
Talking about LSG, their campaign has gone downhill after a hat-trick of wins. During the first half of the Indian Premier League 2025, they were in the top half of the points table, but now they have started to slip down.
They are heavily dependent on their top order, which hasn't been firing in the last few matches. Nicholas Pooran, who scored 349 runs at an average of 69.8 with a strike rate of 215.43 in the first six matches, has only scored 55 runs in the last four matches at an average of 13.75 and a strike rate of 148.64. For LSG to get back to winning ways, Pooran needs to step up and perform well against the Shreyas Iyer-led side.
Talking about the head-to-head record, the Lucknow Super Giants have a slight 3-2 edge over the Punjab Kings.
IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants win the toss and opt to field
Speaking at the toss, the Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant said that the surface on offer is a bowling-first pitch. He said:
"We will bowl first. We feel it is a bowling first."
Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer said that they also would have bowled first in the match. Shreyas Iyer said:
"We would have bowled first as well. The wicket was covered for a while and it was pouring yesterday and the day before."
