Thursday's Weather forecast in Guyana, according to Accuweather, has indicated that there are 88% chances of rain in India-England's ICC T20 WC semi-final.

The Indian team and the English team are all set to play out a replay of the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final which took place at the Adelaide Oval. 2 years later, both the teams will be locking horns once again in the same stage, this time at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Rohit Sharma and Jos Buttler will be renewing their rivalry on June 27th.

There's plenty of anticipation regarding the match as India and England have easily been two of the strongest teams in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Both of them are playing good cricket at the moment even if their last few results have been very different. Rohit Sharma and Co. will enter the semi-finals with an unbeaten record for the second ICC white-ball tournament in a row.

England on the other hand, has suffered 2 losses in this tournament, first against Australia during Group stages and then to South Africa in Super 8s. The reigning champions qualified for the last 4 stages regardless and it appears they have a very good chance of winning back-to-back World T20 titles.

They will be determined to do so after failing to defend the other white-ball trophy they had won in 2019. England had a terrible ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign wherein they somehow finished at the 7th spot, forget about a title defense. But in the T20 WC in the USA and West Indies, Jos Buttler and co. have looked like a different team altogether.

With 88% chances of rain and 18% chances of Thunderstorms, India and England's semi-final is on the verge of getting canceled

The batting order looks dangerous plus the bowling looks good, too. And with India's unbeaten streak extending to 6 matches after the win against Australia, their clash against England will be an evenly contest match. But 2 days before the semi-final match, weather reports claimed that dark clouds loomed large in the Anglo-Indian match-up.

Weather reports from Accuweather have indicated that Guyana will experience 88% of heavy rainfall and 18% of thunderstorms. The worst part is that there is no reserve day for this semi-final whereas South Africa and Afghanistan's clash do have a reserve day. It will be interesting to see if the match gets underway or not.

India to benefit from the washout

The ICC has allotted an extra 250 minutes for the 2nd semi-final in case of rain interruption. Approximately 4 additional hours have been granted for the match and if the match experiences a washout, then it will be the Indian team that will benefit.

Since India finished as Group 1 leaders in the Super 8s and England finished as runners-up of Group 2, Rohit Sharma's side have an upper hand. The Men in Blue will proceed to the final if there is a washout for being the group winners in the last eight whereas the Men in Red will return home.
