In a huge blow for the Gujarat Titans (GT), the 29-year-old premier right-arm pacer Kagiso Rabada is not playing today's match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Kagiso Rabada skips GT vs RCB IPL 2025 match

Speaking at the toss, the Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill said that they would be missing the services of Kagiso Rabada in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

He revealed that the pacer Kagiso Rabada would be missing the game due to personal reasons. Gill also confirmed the return of Arshad Khan to the playing XI.

"We'll bowl first. Looks like a good wicket. We've seen the conditions don't change much. We're all about reducing our unforced errors. We'll try to fine-tune the areas that need it. Kagiso misses out due to personal reasons so we've got Arshad Khan back," the GT skipper said at the toss.

I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to be playing in the IPL - Kagiso Rabada's GT teammate

Speaking ahead of the RCB vs GT clash, Kagiso Rabada's GT teammate Sherfane Rutherford said that he is glad to get an opportunity to play in the marquee Indian Premier League. He said:

"First of all, I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to be playing in the IPL, it's always great to be playing in this tournament, as a team we're in a good space, we'll take 1 (win) from 2 on any day."

Sherfane Rutherford, however, expressed disappointment over his performance with the bat so far in the competition and talked about their win against the Mumbai Indians. He elaborated:

"Unfortunately for me, it hasn't been a good start, I think I could have done better, but it's a lot of learning and a lot of positives, I think I can keep learning as the days go by. It definitely did a lot for us (on the win in the last match), after the first half, we felt we were 10-15 runs short, but the bowlers adapted well on a slow surface, it's all about improving in small areas and doing better tonight."

Virat Kohli is one of the greatest players - Sherfane Rutherford

Sherfane Rutherford further said that the Chinnaswamy stadium has a small ground and lavished rich praise on Virat Kohli, labeling him as one of the greatest players. He elaborated:

"Definitely, I feel the same way on his performance). I still think I could have won the first match for my team. This is always a good wicket with a small ground (on the Chinnaswamy stadium), it's important to assess and make the adjustments.

"He's (on Virat Kohli) one of the greatest players, as a team, we have plans, it might not always work, but we'll have to follow the plans and hopefully he'll make a mistake."
