Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 70th and the last league game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025.

The match is being played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. It is a must-win clash for RCB. The equation is straightforward for the Bengaluru-based outfit - beat LSG and secure a top-two finish. With 17 points, they are currently in third spot in the points table.

Two more points in the last league game will take their points tally to 19 and will put them in the top-two. With a place in the top-two at stake, the three-time IPL finalists will be desperate to win their last league game. RCB suffered a heavy loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last game and will be looking to bounce back.

On the other hand, LSG are already out of the tournament and will be keen to end their dismal campaign on a winning note. The Rishabh Pant-led side beat the Gujarat Titans in its last game and will be fancying its chances against RCB.

Rajat Patidar to play as an Impact Player:

RCB will be without their regular captain, Patidar, on the field while bowling. For the second game in a row, wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma will lead the team, while Rajat Patidar will be used as an Impact Player.

Jitesh came out for the toss and revealed that Rajat Patidar won't be taking the field during RCB's bowling innings. The RCB captain is currently recovering from a finger injury that he had sustained while fielding against Chennai Super Kings on May 3.

Even after more than three weeks, Rajat Patidar has not recovered fully. It could also be a precautionary measure from RCB, as they have already qualified for the playoffs. RCB will be hoping that Patidar makes an impact with the bat and helps them win the crucial game.

"We will field first. Looks like a good wicket, we'll fancy to chase. Rajat Patidar is our impact player," said Jitesh after winning the toss and opting to bowl first.
