The India vs Pakistan match has resulted in a big fiasco; however, reports from AajTak have confirmed that India is going to leave no stone unturned to defeat Pakistan, and is in no mood to hand the arch-rivals a 'walkover.'

India is scheduled to play against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 on the 14th of September in the UAE. Despite India being the hosts of the continental championship, they have handed the UAE the responsibility to organize the matches as part of a deal signed with the PCB to play the India vs Pakistan matches only at neutral venues.

However, the concern has been the infuriated people of India and the opportunistic opposition leaders who have cited this approval as an insult to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and have openly criticized the Indian government, asking for clarification as well as reconsideration of their decision.

Reports claim India will not hand Pakistan free points with 'walkover'

After the India vs Pakistan match was scheduled for the Asia Cup 2025, several opposition leaders, as well as the ICT fans, have called for a cancellation of the match or the Indian team withdrawing from the fixture, just like it happened in the World Championship of Legends.

However, reports from AajTak have claimed that the Indian government is in no mood to give a walkover to Pakistan, as that would help the rivals with free points. The Asia Cup is a multi-team tournament and features other teams as well; hence, such a decision would affect the other teams as well.

The journalist confirmed, though no official statement has been issued by the Indian government, that this is the scenario he learned from his sources close to the Indian government.

Opposition leaders bash the BJP Government over the Asia Cup 2025

Ever since the decision over the Asia Cup 2025 was finalised on the 24th of July, the Indian fans have started slamming the Indian government and the BCCI over such an approval on social media as well as public platforms.

Several opposition leaders of the Shivsena and now the AIMIM MP have brought the matter up in the Parliament and have questioned the conscience and the morals of the Indian government.

They have raised emotional doubt in the minds of people and have urged the Indian government to state what their stand would be in front of the family members of the victims of the heinous attack in Kashmir.

'Walkover' possible in ICC tournaments, not Asia Cup - Claims Sports Journalist

After the 'no walkover' claims made by the reporter from AajTak on the India vs Pakistan match, the managing editor of Sports Tak, Vikrant Gupta, has voiced his stand against the remark.

The senior sports journalist has made it clear that the Asia Cup doesn't stand a chance for a walkover, as it takes place in ICC tournaments, but since the Asia Cup 2025 was to be hosted by India, the board's refusal would have led to the cancellation of the entire tournament for a season or two.

He indirectly indicated that the hosting was a formal decision from the Indian government and the BCCI, and they cannot back off from it any further, especially with the 2036 Olympics on the back of their minds.
