Rishabh Pant reveals the backstory of his funny belly poke on Rohit Sharma during IPL

India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant revealed about his gesture for Rohit Sharma at the toss during the Indian Premier League game between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. He explained that he was trying to pull the leg of his senior Indian teammate.

India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant is one of the funniest characters in the Indian team. The southpaw has been the one who has always kept things light on the field as well as off the field both for India as well as the franchise cricket.

Rishabh Pant shares great camaraderie with every Indian teammate but he has a special bond with skipper Rohit Sharma. The duo often have been seen having a fun time both on the field as well as off the field as they often are seen together.

Even skipper Rohit Sharma recently also talked about his bond with Rishabh Pant. The India captain stated that whenever he wants to laugh he talks to keeper-batter because he always makes him feel good and makes him feel light.

During an interaction on his YouTube channel, Rishabh Pant was asked about a picture from the IPL in which he was poking Rohit Sharma's belly at the toss time. The post was uploaded by keeper-batter on his birthday in 2021.

Rishabh Pant while explaining about the picture stated that he was trying to have fun with Rohit Sharma as he was trying to pull his leg. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:

Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant to be seen in action together during Sri Lanka ODIs

India captain Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant will seen in action together during Sri Lanka ODIs. Currently Indian team is playing the three-match T20I series against the island nation and the keeper-batter is part of the team.

Rishabh Pant played a vital innings in the first game against Sri Lanka. The keeper-batter played an innings of 49 runs in the first game and helped his team win the game. In the second game, he remained unbeaten and took the team to the series win.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has joined the Indian team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. The series between the teams will be taking place from 2nd August. Rohit will be leading the team while Pant has been named as the keeper of the team along with KL Rahul.

This will be the first time that Rishabh Pant will be playing the ODIs since facing the horrific accident in 2022. The keeper-batter so far has featured in T20Is and was also part of the T20 World Cup 2024 winning squad.

With KL Rahul also in the team, it remains to be seen if Rishabh Pant will be in the first XI or not. The right-hander will likely be preferred because he was the keeper of the team in the ICC World Cup 2023.
