Rishabh Pant's campaign in the ongoing IPL 2025 went from bad to worse on Monday (May 19) as he flopped with the bat once again during the crucial match between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The LSG captain has failed to lead his team from the front this season. With LSG now in a do-or-die situation for a place in the playoffs, the onus was on Rishabh Pant to play a captain's knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad. LSG were in a commanding position when their captain walked out to bat.

Asked to bat first, LSG were off to a solid start with Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh firing on all cylinders right from the start. The in-form openers added 115 runs in less than 11 overs before Marsh was dismissed by Harsh Dubey. The Australian allrounder departed after scoring 65 runs off 39 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes.

Rishabh Pant's woeful run continues:

The platform was well set for Rishabh Pant to roar back to form and play a captain's innings. With more than 100 runs already on the board inside 11 overs, LSG were on the front foot and would have expected an impactful knock from their captain.

However, Rishabh Pant once again disappointed with the bat and was out for just 7 runs off 6 balls. He was dismissed by Eshan Malinga on the last ball of the 12th over. After Pant's dismissal, Sanjiv Goenka left the balcony and walked inside. And as Pant flopped with the bat once again, the fans were quick to react and slam him for yet another poor outing.

Here are some of the reactions to Pant's latest failure with the bat:

LSG batting well vs SRH

Talking about the game, LSG were on 163/3 in the 17th over at the time of writing this report. Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni were batting for the Lucknow-based outfit. After Pant's departure, Markram returned to the pavilion as well.

The South Africa star was dismissed by Harshal Patel for 61. LSG will be hoping that Pooran and Badoni stay unbeaten till the end and guide them to a big score.

LSG have lost their last three games and will be desperate to win the ongoing game to stay in the playoffs race. They are currently at the 7th spot with 5 wins and 6 defeats.
