Ritika Sajdeh openly defies Rohit Sharma; says this family member will miss Rahul Dravid even more than the Indian captain
A few hours after Rohit Sharma wrote an emotional post on social media about Rahul Dravid, Ritika Sajdeh joined in and posted an emotional note for the former India head coach.
On July 9 (Tuesday), Rohit Sharma expressed his feelings and respect for Rahul Dravid in a heartwarming post where he thanked him for his contribution during his coaching tenure. During his post, Rohit also referred to Dravid as his 'work wife', and expressed his happiness for finally clinching an ICC trophy for India after 11 years as India won the T20 World Cup 2024.
This was Rahul Dravid's first ever ICC trophy either as a player or as a coach. Despite scoring over 23000 international runs, an ICC trophy was missing from Dravid's illustrious career. But India's win in the T20 World Cup 2024 fulfilled Dravid's ambition.
Before this title win, he was a part of the ICC 2003 ODI World Cup as a player and the ICC 2023 ODI World Cup as a coach. But India lost in the finals to Australia on both occasions.

Rahul Dravid had already announced earlier that the T20 World Cup 2024 would be his last assignment for Team India as the head coach. Despite multiple efforts by BCCI and some of the senior players in the team, Dravid insisted on not continuing the job any further.
Rahul Dravid's coaching tenure ends on a high
He was appointed as India's head coach after the 2021 T20 World Cup where India failed to qualify for the semi-finals. But under his tenure, India reached new heights, including the finals ICC World Test Championship (WTC), ICC ODI World Cup, and ICC T20 World Cup within a year.
Out of these three finals, India lost in the WTC finals and ODI World Cup in 2023 in a heartbreaking manner before claiming the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados to end Dravid's tenure on a high.
Rahul Dravid was earlier set to end his tenure after the completion of the ODI World Cup 2023. But he was convinced by Rohit Sharma to continue till the T20 World Cup 2024 as the tournament was just a few months away.
Dravid agreed to Rohit and both helped India claim a T20 World Cup trophy after a gap of 17 years. Before this title, India had won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir is set to take over and replace Rahul Dravid as India's new head coach. His tenure will begin with India's white-ball tour of Sri Lanka in July 2024.
