Rajasthan Royals (RR) young batters showcased impressive form ahead of the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel played big knocks in a practice match ahead of their IPL 2025 opener against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Hyderabad on March 23.

The Jaipur-based franchise has retained captain Sanju Samson for ₹18 crore ahead of the mega auction. Yashasvi Jaiswal has also secured an ₹18 crore deal with the franchise. Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel have each been retained for ₹14 crore. The presence of Indian batters will boost the batting lineup.

The Royals shared a video on their X (formerly Twitter) handle, offering a glimpse of their players' performances. In a practice match, Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel impressed with the bat. Parag remained unbeaten on 144 off 64 balls, Jaiswal scored 83 from 34 balls, and Jurel hit 104 off 44 balls.

"Aaj mahol pura 🥶🔥," wrote the caption.

Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel's Performances for Rajasthan Royals

Riyan Parag had a breakthrough during the IPL 2024 season. He scored 573 runs in 15 matches and helped the Royals reach the playoffs. The Royals bought him in 2019 and then re-signed him in 2022. RR showed faith in his potential despite his inconsistent performances in the tournament over five years.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has also established himself as a key player for RR. He holds the record for the fastest IPL fifty in 2023 and has consistently performed well. The left-handed batter has scored over 1,000 runs in the last two IPL seasons. Jaiswal is expected to be a leading run-scorer for the franchise in 2025.

Rajasthan Royals' decision to retain Dhruv Jurel surprised many, especially after releasing star batter Jos Buttler, who had been one of their top performers. Jurel managed only 195 runs at an average of 24.38 in 11 innings during IPL 2024.

RR's IPL 2025 Campaign to Begin Against SRH on March 23

Rajasthan Royals will begin their IPL 2025 campaign against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The two teams last met in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2024, where SRH emerged victorious. The Hyderabad team lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final.

The Royals have struggled to secure another championship since their inaugural IPL title in 2008. They have remained competitive in recent years, regularly making the playoffs, including a runner-up finish in 2022. The team management will be aiming to break their long-standing title drought in the 2025 season.

Sanju Samson will feature as an impact player in Rajasthan Royals' first three matches, with Riyan Parag taking over the captaincy. The franchise shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) where Samson informed his teammates about the decision.
