Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has backed Rajat Patidar to take Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that the batter's leadership in the last two games has been f*****g unbelievable.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have started the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on a high as they have won two back-to-back games in the league. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, the team has looked a class apart and has played a dominating brand of cricket right.

The leadership of Rajat Patidar for RCB has been impressive

Royal Challengers Bengaluru started the IPL 2025 on high as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens by 7 wickets. Following that, they came up with another dominating effort as they scripted history by beating Chennai Super Kings for the first time at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in 18 years.

The RCB squad looks pretty balanced this time around, as they have a lot of match-winners on their side. What has been even more impressive is the leadership of skipper Rajat Patidar. The right-hander has led from the front and has been a major reason behind the team's win.

His leadership in the last couple of games has been f*****g unbelievable -Robin Uthappa on Rajat Patidar

Robin Uthappa backed Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win the title under the leadership of Patidar. He pointed out the proactiveness and the calmness, adding that he is trusting the processes. Speaking on the The KimAppa show with cricket analyst Jarrod Kimber, he said:

“I have a feeling about RCB this year. I’ll tell you why, because of Rajat Patidar! His leadership in the last couple of games has been f*****g unbelievable! It has been so good!”

“What I love about Patidar is proactiveness and the calmness in which he exercises his proactiveness. It’s so cool to see someone who’s leading a team for the first time on the IPL stage exercise the level of calm that he has exercised, right. He’s not reactive. He’s trusting the the processes.”

He’s not taking pressure about being the captain - Robin Uthappa on Rajat Patidar

Robin Uthappa also pointed out how Rajat Patidar used Suyash Sharma in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. He stressed that the kind of faith that he showed in young spinner defines that he has got character. He also lauded the RCB skipper for his batting prowess in the league. He elaborated:

“The fact that he bought Suyash Sharma back into the attack when Andre Russell came into a bat (in the RCB vs KKR game) when he knew that Suyash has already given 40 runs in three overs. He said (to Suyash) ‘I picked you to get this guy out.

"Now get this guy out, I need you to do it for me!’ To exercise that level of faith in your first game as a captain when your bowler has gone away for 40 runs in three overs… tells you he has the character. For me that defines that Patidar has got character.”

“Also the way he’s batting. He’s not taking pressure about being the captain. He’s going there and exercising his role as a batter which is to take the bowlers to the cleaners and be aggressive with them. He’s doing it with such panache. He’s doing it so, so well which is why I think that RCB have a greater chance of going beyond the playoffs this season.”
