The craze for BCCI President Election is getting bigger day by day. There are chances that the current President Sourav Ganguly may not get a second term. The former left-handed batter did quite a good job but the team did not win any ICC tournaments which was the ultimate.
BCCI President’s post is not only important for India but also for World Cricket. According to reports Jay Shah is set to continue as the secretary of BCCI and whereas others. Roger Binny looks like the most likely candidate to become the President. A billion people would be hoping that the team gets an ICC trophy under a new president.
Rajeev Shukla on Roger Binny
1983 World Cup Winner Roger Binny has filed the nomination for BCCI President. Rajeev Shukla was seen interacting with the media and was asked about Roger Binny. “I have filed nomination for the post of vice-president, Roger Binny has filed nomination for the president, Jay Shah has filed for secretary and Ashish Shelar for treasurer. As of now, the situation is that all will be appointed unopposed,” said Shukla.
Roger Binny a Great Asset
The former all-rounder was a part of the selection panel in 2012. During that period, he was severely criticized for including Stuart Binny in the Indian Cricket Team. During his tenure, India won ICC Champions Trophy 2013 which was quite a big achievement. But in 2014 & 2015 the team wobbled in the crunch situations.
There would be high hopes from him to take Indian Cricket forward. From 2023 there are going to be a lot of ICC tournaments where the workload of players has to be managed. There are chances that he would prioritize Test Cricket a little more.
