He feels that there is always something to look forward to as long as a player continues to represent the country; he has been looking forward to the forthcoming major event and also what lies ahead of him.
"The thought will never cross my mind that the business I had is finished. As long as you're playing, there is always something to look forward to and I'm looking forward to the World Cup, looking at what lies ahead for me."

Rohit Sharma highlighted the importance of ICC tournaments. He believes these major tournaments have their own challenges, as they face different opponents at different venues, so they have to prepare accordingly and assess things differently, which is challenging in itself.
"When the World Cup is played, when we play an ICC tournament, it has its own unique challenge, because you face different opponents, you play at different venues so, you have to prepare differently, think in a different way and that is the challenge."
Rohit Sharma ends all retirement speculations
It was previously reported that Rohit Sharma is not in the scheme of things for the ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia and would retire after the Lord’s ODI in England. However, dismissing all the rumours, he still continues to represent the Men in Blue in the 50-over format and will once again be seen opening on Sunday.
The former India captain has been in good form as he comes into the series after scoring a brilliant hundred in his last ODI innings away from home. So he would like to continue with the same form in this series and answer all his critics.
