There are speculations that Hardik Pandya might be picked by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 auction from Gujarat Titans. Rumors are rife that MI is looking to grab Hardik Pandya in their squad. Hardik Pandya is the skipper of Gujarat Titans currently.

IPL 2024 auction is set to take place on December 19 next month. IPL franchises are now busy with preparing their retention lists. November 26 is the deadline for IPL teams to finalize their retained players. It is also the deadline to trade any players with mutual agreements.

Mumbai Indians To Pick Hardik Pandya As Replacement To Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer- Reports

As per a News18 CricketNext report, there are two ways Mumbai Indians are looking to grab Hardik Pandya. They might trade Rohit Sharma for Hardik Pandya. Thus, it will be a trade of both captains.

Another option is to pick Pandya to fill in the spot of England pacer Jofra Archer. Pandya can wait for one season before Mumbai Indians eventually promote him as the skipper in the next season.

Hardik Pandya Grabbed Limelight With Mumbai Indians

Hardik Pandya has a strong connection with Mumbai Indians. He made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians. With the team, he went on to win the IPL trophies in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 seasons. Pandya also got a lot of limelight with his performances in MI and selectors picked him for the national time.

At one point, Pandya was known as the poster boy for Mumbai Indians. However, ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, MI released him from the squad. Gujarat Titans picked him as the skipper by offering him the most expensive deal in the squad.
