Former South Africa National Cricket Team player AB de Villiers has picked his dream team in the T20 Cricket. The ex-Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter went on to name four Indian players in his team in the shortest format of the game, along with the three backup players who were also Indian.
AB de Villiers named Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah as two premier players in the team. The India National Cricket Team batter is arguably one of the best players in the history of the game and has played a vital role for his team in the shortest format of the game.
Virat Kohli, who retired from the T20I format after the T20 World Cup 2024, ended as one of the best players in the format. In the IPL, the premier batter has been the best as he is the leading run-getter in the tournament and the only batter with over 8000 runs to his name in the league.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is currently the best pacer in World cricket. The premier pacer has set himself high standards, and the way he changes the course of the game has been magnificent. He recently won the Player of the Tournament in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and helped India win the title.
Villiers also went on to pick Rishabh Pant in his dream T20 team along with Bhuvaneswar Kumar. The duo has been an incredible servant for the India National Cricket Team and also has made a massive impact in the Indian Premier League as well.
Villiers picked Australia's Travis Head as opener alongside Virat Kohli in his dream T20 team. At No.3, the former South Africa National Cricket Team named all-rounder Cameron Green, who also has been handy with the ball, followed by the keeper-batter Rishabh Pant in his team.
South African duo of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller also made it in the XI of AB de Villiers, while Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine feature as spinners. Along with Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneswar Kumar, Kagiso Rabada will be the third pacer in the team. De Villiers also picked three Indians, MS Dhoni, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Mayank Yadav, as his backups.
I love the guy (Rashid). He is your magical bowler - AB de Villiers
While talking about the inclusion of Rashid Khan in his team, he said that the Afghanistan spinner is a magical bowler who also changes the game with the bat. He stated:
“I love the guy (Rashid). He is your magical bowler. You bring him on when the game is on the line in those middle overs. He can get you 2-3 (wickets) in no time, and you can also hold the bat. He can win you the game with a bat in hand as well. Great on the field, great attitude towards the game."
AB de Villiers also explained why he didn't name Yuzvendra Chahal in the main team. He also talked about the inclusion of Mayank Yadav as the substitute player and said:
"He’s (Chahal) not in the main side because he doesn’t bat as strong, maybe not as strong in the field as a Rashid Khan. So, Rashid still tips him there only by a small margin though. But there’s no better bowler in the world as a backup other than Yuzi Chahal,"
“Mayank Yadav is an outright pace bowler. He can break the game open, and he can take some wickets and install big fear in the batting department."
