The Mumbai Indians have issued the medical bulletin for their most veteran batter, Rohit Sharma, who has missed out on the last three matches for the Mumbai Indians.

The Mumbai Indians are once again having a disappointing season in this edition of the competition. Having played just 7 matches in this season, they could only manage to win two games and have struggled with five defeats.

What has been the biggest concern for them in this season is their performance despite having several big names on the team. However, the opening stand could be strengthened with Rohit Sharma's return, as he would be paired alongside Quinton de Kock.

MI spokesperson updates on Rohit Sharma's injury ahead of the clash against SRH

The star batter for the Mumbai Indians played his last game this season against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He has not been part of the mix since then and has been sidelined with an injury.

Quinton de Kock replaced him in the side, and Rohit has missed out on the last three matches for the Challengers. As per the latest update, he is currently progressing, and his availability would only be confirmed at the toss by the Mumbai Indians skipper.

"He continues to progress. Any call on his availability (in the game versus SRH) would be taken at the toss tomorrow," said the MI spokesperson.

Ashwani Kumar on his role in the team and the intimidation by the presence of senior players

Ashwani Kumar, the left-arm seamer from the Mumbai Indians camp, was the one attending the pre-match conference from Mumbai's end. He addressed that he has not been intimidated by the presence of senior Indian pros like Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar in the team.

This seemed obvious, as Ashwani was picked as their replacement after the two Indian seamers failed to show any kind of promising form worth enough to retain their spot on the Mumbai Indians side. Ashwani, on the contrary, picked a four-wicket haul on his very first game of the season against the Gujarat Titans.

He also revealed that under the guidance of the world-class pacer Lasith Malinga, he has been working hard to improve his slowers and yorkers against one of the best bowlers in the world in the shortest format of the game.

Keshav Maharaj has replaced Mitchell Santner in the Mumbai Indians

Ahead of their upcoming match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the English all-rounder Will Jacks has joined the Mumbai Indians camp and will be seen for the side in the upcoming games.

On the other hand, Mitchell Santner, the veteran star who has been ruled out from the remainder of the IPL with an injury to his left shoulder, has been replaced by South African spinner Keshav Maharaj.

If Jacks is brought into the setup, then he might be seen opening the innings with Quinton de Kock until Rohit is fit enough to join the XI and might later be pushed lower down the order playing in a finishing role.
