The Indian opener said that the Indian team knew about Kohli’s retirement decision before the start of the tournament in the USA and West Indies, and he is happy for whatever he did and achieved in his T20I career. Rohit described the dashing right-hander as a champion player.
Rohit Sharma said during the media interaction in Barbados: “Virat informed us before the start of the tournament that he will retire after this T20 World Cup. He is a champion player and I am very happy for him.”
Notably, Kohli is the second-highest run-scorer in T20I cricket after Rohit (4,231), amassing 4,188 runs at an impressive average of 48.69, with one century and 38 half-centuries to his name in 125 T20I matches for the Indian team.
