Rohit Sharma QUITS Vijay Hazare Trophy midway after duck, abruptly leaves for home

Former Team India skipper Rohit Sharma ended his Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 campaign after playing two matches for his state team, Mumbai. The right-handed batter has returned home after giving fans a few memorable moments and will not feature for the team in the remainder of the ongoing tournament.
Rohit was dismissed without scoring in the second round of the tournament. Uttarakhand pacer Devendra Singh Bora removed him for a golden duck in Jaipur on Friday, December 26. Notably, the veteran batter played a 155-run knock in Mumbai’s opening match against Sikkim, where he had secured the victory.
Rohit Sharma Returns to Mumbai After Vijay Hazare Trophy Stint
According to Indian Express journalist Devendra Pandey, Rohit has flown home after finishing his short stint in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was scheduled to play only a couple of matches for Mumbai in the tournament.

Fans came in large numbers to see him in Jaipur. Many spectators left the Sawai Mansingh Stadium after his dismissal, but a few stayed back just to catch a glimpse of the star batter.
With Mumbai set to face Chhattisgarh on December 29, the Mumbai Cricket Association is expected to announce Rohit’s replacement soon. Mumbai are currently placed at the top of the Group C points table and are on their way to qualifying for the quarterfinals.
Rohit Sharma Spotted on Late-Night Out with Ritika Sajdeh
Rohit has returned to Mumbai after completing his Vijay Hazare Trophy stint in Jaipur, where he represented Mumbai in the domestic tournament.
Soon after reaching the city, Rohit was seen spending time off the field with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. The couple stepped out for a late-night dinner in Mumbai, offering fans a glimpse into his downtime after returning from cricket duties.
The videos quickly went viral on social media platforms, with fans sharing photos and clips of the star batter enjoying a relaxed evening following his return from Jaipur.

Mumbai Register Their Second Successive Win Despite Rohit Sharma's Golden Duck
Mumbai sealed their second straight win in the Vijay Hazare Trophy despite Rohit being dismissed for a golden duck. After the early setback, Mumbai’s middle order helped the team post a total of 331 in their allotted 50 overs.
Musheer Khan and Sarfaraz Khan scored 55 each, while Hardik Tamore played a key role with an unbeaten 93. Shams Mulani (48) and Shardul Thakur (29) chipped in with valuable runs.
In reply, Yuvraj Chaudhary top-scored with 96, while Jagadeesha Suchith added 51, but they did not get support from the others. Shardul Thakur, Onkar Tarmale, and Musheer Khan picked up two wickets each, while Mulani and Tanush Kotian chipped in with one wicket apiece.
The 38-year-old is expected to be part of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting January 11 in Vadodara. He scored 202 runs against Australia, including a century, and registered two half-centuries in the home ODI series against South Africa.
