Rohit Sharma Smashes His 11th Hundred In Test Cricket
Rohit Sharma was under pressure after registering low scores in the first four innings of the series. Nonetheless, the star opener rose to the occasion, delivering a crucial performance by scoring his 11th Test hundred to help India recover from collapse on Day 1.
The 36-year-old batter reached the three-figure milestone in 157 balls during India’s first innings. He achieved this feat in leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed’s bowling. However, he was dismissed by Mark Wood after scoring 131 runs, including 14 boundaries and three sixes.
After Rohit’s departure, the Indian team found themselves at 237-4, with debutant Sarfaraz Khan entering the crease at No. 6. Ravindra Jadeja eyes a century to strengthen India’s position in the ongoing Test match, considering the lack of experience in the batting line-up.
India has failed to capitalize on advantageous positions in the first two Tests of the ongoing series, missing opportunities to score extra runs. The home team aims to amass a substantial total to exert pressure on the England attack and seize control of the match.
