As the CJP's Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi dominated headlines and trended across the internet, Instagram Stories shared by the wives of Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah also drew widespread attention. Ritika Sajdeh, Devisha Shetty and Sanjana Ganesan each posted messages or videos related to the developments surrounding the protest.

CJP protest in Delhi became one of the biggest news stories of the week after clashes between protesters and police at Jantar Mantar. The incident sparked debate online, with reactions pouring in from public figures, journalists and ordinary citizens, while several personalities used Instagram Stories to share their views on the events.

Why did CJP's Jantar Mantar protest trend across India?

The Jantar Mantar protest gained nationwide attention after thousands of demonstrators associated with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) gathered in Delhi to press for education reforms and accountability. Tensions escalated when police intervened during the protest, with reports of clashes, the use of force and injuries to several protesters.

This incident triggered sharp political reactions and widespread public debate over the handling of the Delhi protest. Images and videos from the protest circulated extensively online, while hashtags related to the CJP protest, Jantar Mantar news and Delhi news climbed the trending charts. The discussion also expanded beyond politics, with celebrities, journalists and other public personalities sharing posts expressing concern or commenting on the events.

What did the wives of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah share?

Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh shared a video from the Jantar Mantar protest through her Instagram Story.

The clip featured a young boy speaking during an interview at the protest site, accompanied by the on-screen caption: "’Not scared of lathis, inspired by Bhagat Singh,’ 9y/o protestor." Ritika did not add any personal comment to the story, simply reposting the video that had already been circulating online. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was recently spotted in The Hundred.

Suryakumar Yadav's wife Devisha Shetty reposted a message on her Instagram Story carrying the headline "Violence isn't democracy." The post argued that once people resort to throwing stones, attacking police personnel, breaking barricades and damaging public property, they are no longer participating in a peaceful protest but are instead breaking the law.

"But Violence Isn't Democracy. The moment you. Throw stones. Attack police. Break barricades. Destroy public property. You're no longer protesting.. You're breaking the law," Suryakumar Yadav's wife posted on Instagram.

Jasprit Bumrah's wife Sanjana Ganesan also shared an Instagram Story related to the CJP protest in Delhi. The post expressed concern over reports of children being exposed to tear gas, stating that if such an incident could happen to a six-year-old attending the protest, it could happen to anyone.

"If this can happen to a six-year-old sitting away from the protest, it can happen to anyone. No democracy should normalize children choking on tear gas. No peaceful citizen should have to fear the people meant to protect them," Jasprit Bumrah's wife posted.

Social media reactions grow as Jantar Mantar protest dominates online discussion

The Jantar Mantar protest continues to dominate online conversations throughout the day, with reactions extending well beyond political circles. Alongside updates from news organizations, screenshots of Instagram Stories shared by Ritika Sajdeh, Devisha Shetty and Sanjana Ganesan were widely circulated across X, Instagram and other social media platforms.

As the Delhi protest remains one of the country's biggest talking points, discussions also shifted toward how public figures and their family members chose to respond online. While the three posts varied in tone and content, each became part of the broader conversation surrounding the CJP protest and its aftermath.
