'Rohit Sharma targeting 2027 WC, Virat Kohli to retire soon' - Ravichandran Ashwin slams fake quotes

Former India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin destroyed a fan over spreading fake news using his name. He lashed out at the Twitter user, saying that before writing anything next time, he should confirm with him.

Ever since he announced his retirement from international cricket, Ravichandran Ashwin has been very active on social media. The off-spinner also has been following the games across the globe and has been analysing the things on his YouTube channel with various journalists.

The Chennai Super Kings spinner has also been giving interviews, and recently, one of his statements went viral on the internet. According to that, Ashwin revealed the retirement plans of India captain Rohit Sharma and former skipper Virat Kohli.

'As far as I know, Rohit is targeting the 2027 ODI World Cup, you may see Virat Kohli hanging up his boots soon'

A Twitter user posted the statement, saying that, as per Ashwin, Rohit Sharma will be targeting the 2027 ODI World Cup, while Virat Kohli might call time on his career as he wants to spend more time with his young family. He posted:

"As far as I know, Rohit is targeting the 2027 ODI World Cup, you may see Virat Kohli hanging up his boots soon because he wants to spend more time with his young family. That is what Virat discussed with me a few months back. (Via his YT channel)"

The statement did rounds on the internet, but Ashwin has come up with the clarification. He mockingly lashed out at the fan, saying that it's heartwarming to see humans still excelling at creative storytelling in this AI era. While further taking a dig at him, he said:

"Heartwarming to see humans still excelling at creative storytelling in this AI era. Nice script but maybe check with me next time before casting me in the lead role?"

Ravichandran Ashwin will be next seen in action during the Indian Premier League (IPL). The off-spinner was picked by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the auction and he has joined the franchise ahead of the next edition. He will be key for the team as they will be looking to win their 6th title.
