Some scenes from the practice sessions at Adelaide marked the Indian selectors and head coach Gautam Gambhir engaging in a long conversation with Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal after the Indian opener Rohit Sharma left for the team hotel. This has raised speculation about the replacement of Rohit Sharma by the left-handed batter.
After the first match defeat, India has taken things on a further serious note and has practiced hard for the upcoming game at Adelaide. Though most of the sessions have been optional, and only the players keen on attending them have come to the nets.
While the likes of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli have skipped these sessions, former Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been eagerly practising in the nets and has set the tone for a comeback. He looked determined for this tour, having worked so hard to regain his fitness.

Unlike previous tours, Rohit has looked different this time around. This might be due to his eagerness to retain his spot till the next World Cup, despite being snubbed as the skipper of the Indian side.
He has attended all optional sessions on this tour and was the first player to make it to the ground and indulge in a complete session, inclusive of throwdowns and fielding drills, as well as batting sessions.
"Rohit was again one of the seven players to turn out for the optional practice session. Though many players were not available there," confirmed Rohit Juglan through RevSportz.
However, what caught the attention of all was the long conversation between Yashasvi Jaiswal and the Indian selector Ajit Agarkar and the Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir.
This posed a question: Is Gambhir planning to drop Rohit to make way for young Jaiswal in the Indian ODI XI? The answer remains to be awaited till tomorrow.

Shubman Gill missed multiple practice sessions ahead of the Adelaide game
Another matter of shock for the RevSportz reporters as well as Indian fans has been the constant absence of Indian skipper Shubman Gill. Gill is usually too regular for such practice sessions, even if all players decide to skip them.
"Interestingly, Shubman Gill was not there. I can't remember a tour where he missed two practice sessions. The missed session at Perth is understandable, as the flight was a long one and was further delayed, which led to players skipping the session," noted the RevSportz reporters.
"However, he is one of the few players who continues on the route for India. They have to travel back and play another Test series against South Africa. We have seen him attending optional sessions before, but this is a very rare occasion that he misses back-to-back practice sessions," Juglan added.
Rohit Sharma is no longer the same man after the Captaincy snub
Rohit Sharma was snubbed from Captaincy, right before his return to the Indian ODI side ahead of this tour. This might have affected his mentality, as Rohit has clearly looked different in the public eye, though his attitude remained unchanged towards his teammates and the Indian management.
"He is not the same Rohit Sharma we know. Yes, he is the same Rohit Sharma for his teammates, but he is no longer the same jovial man in the public eye," said Rohit Juglan.
"I don't know what his mindset is right now, be it about losing the captaincy, since our sources had informed us that he did not want to give up on the captaincy. It was a forced decision by the team management, so that could be a factor. He is thinking about his future in the side or thinking of hanging up his boots in Australia could also be the factor leading to Rohit's transformation," the RevSportz reporters opined.
