RCB Playing XI vs GT – Predicted Lineup & Team Analysis

RCB: Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, and Devdutt Padikkal

Royal Challengers Bengaluru do have one of the strongest playing XIs in this season of the IPL. However, their top order has been inconsistent despite runs coming from the top three.

Phil Salt and Virat Kohli have both added many runs to RCB’s tally, while Devdutt Padikkal also made a promising start with a set of half-centuries. Despite all, none of these batters has been consistent, and they could only score runs one at a time.

GT: Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler

Gujarat Titans are a largely top-order dependent batting unit. Sai Sudharsan has not been in the best of touch in the recent games after having made a promising start. Shubam. Gill has been consistent, while Jos Buttler is slowly gaining his peak form.

RCB: Rajat Patidar, Tim David, and Jitesh Sharma

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s real strength lies in their middle order, with the skipper playing a major hand. Rajat Patidar and Tim David have scored runs while striking at over 200. Jitesh Sharma has not been in promising form this season, which is the only weak link in their middle order.

GT: Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Rahul Tewatia

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, have struggled with their middle order options. Washington Sundar has played one or two fine knocks, but none of the other could manage a promising score.

GT: Washington Sundar, Jason Holder, and Nishant Sindhu

The Gujarat Titans do not possess a very confident pack of all-rounders, but might finally pick Jason Holder after a string of low scores for Glenn Phillips.

RCB: Krunal Pandya and Romario Shepherd

RCB, on the other hand, have Krunal Pandya as one of the best all-rounders in recent times; however, his prominence has mostly been marked with the ball. Lastly, Romario Shepherd is also one such option who adds to firepower; however, Jacob Bethell, who also stars as a batting all-rounder, is waiting on the bench, looking to have a breakout into the playing XI.

RCB: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Rasikh Salam

Both these teams comprise a challenging bowling attack. While, the defending champions have the likes of experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. They have found a great wicket-taking option in young Rasikh Salam Dar. The two RCB spinners have been effective on good surfaces, especially in the middle overs.

GT: Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

Speaking from Gujarat’s point of view, Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada have bowled very well with the new ball. Rabada is using sheer pace and has picked up wickets in a promising manner. Prasidh Krishna is rich in his wicket tally but has struggled with his economy. Rashid Khan the veteran spinner has also bowled with great control, while Washington Sundar has also been used occasionally.

The Gujarat Titans are most likely to pick Rahul Tewatia as their impact sub; however, in terms of bowling usage, Prasidh Krishna is mostly used as the impact player.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have used Suyash Sharma as their impact player with the bowl and have used Devdutt Padikkal or Venkatesh Iyer with the bat. With Padikkal’s form taking a dip, Venkatesh might be handed a chance.

Gujarat would aim to get the better of the RCB batters and then chase a small target which could be their possible way to win this through. RCB on the other hand would also love to chase and if posed to bat first they would be aiming for another massive 220+ total, as that is what they have managed to defend this season.
