RP Singh fires massive warning to KS Bharat after continuous failures

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat being out of form in the first two matches of the IND vs ENG Test series has been a major concern for the Indian team management. Bharat has not been able to score runs with the bat and he is also making fumbles behind the stumps. The third Test is around the corner and is all set to start on February 15, 2024. Due to his lack of performance, the team management shall be forced to replace him.

Since KS Bharat has made his Test debut, he is yet to score a half-century. Bharat’s highest score has been 44 runs till now since he made his Test debut against Australia in February 2023. Bharat was picked as the understudy of Rishabh Pant after the team management removed Saha from the setup. Bharat has only scored 221 runs from 12 Test innings at an average of 20.09.

Former Indian cricketer RP Singh, while speaking on Cricbuzz, opened up about the place of KS Bharat in the Indian cricket team. RP Singh stated that leaving 3 to 4 players in the current Indian team, every player has the pressure of performing. KS Bharat is one of them. RP Singh stated that there is a lot of competition in the team as Rishabh Pant will also come into the side once he gets he fit.

RP Singh opens up on KS Bharat’s performance in the Indian cricket team

RP Singh said, “If we look at the team, there are probably 3 or 4 such players in the list who do not have a sword hanging over them and there is no pressure of performance. It is on everyone else and it is on KS Bharat too, because the line of players is very long. Rishabh Pant will come now, but he will undergo a fitness test and then he will play some domestic cricket.

“KS Bharat is currently a part of the Indian team, it should be understood that if any other keeper is seen by the selectors or the management that he has potential, then it will not take a moment for KS Bharat to sit on the bench.”

RP Singh further added that KS Bharat has also done a lot of fumbles and dropped catches in the first two matches of the Test series against England. RP Singh also admitted that Bharat has performed in domestic cricket but he shall make a plan that he had to replicate the performance in international cricket. He has a big role in the Indian team and his biggest role will be to contribute to the win of the side.

He said, “The opportunities that Bharat is getting are very important. He has also caused fumbles, dropped catches and is not able to keep up with the pace of the ball while keeping. It is not that KS Bharat has not performed, I saw that in the domestic they have kept the runs scored, but to replicate the same performance, they should plan a little, talk to the support staff a little, keep such thinking in themselves.

“He should not think that if another player comes then he will be out. Your role in the team is very big, your role should be so much that you contribute in winning the matches of the team. KS Bharat is disappointing us.”

The third Test match of the IND vs ENG Test series will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
