Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Moeen Ali continued showing why the franchise retained as he managed to follow up his batting performance with a wicket during Rajasthan Royals (RR) run chase on Friday.

Moeen scored a 57-ball 93 in the first innings, more than 60% of CSK’s eventual total of 150. While everybody else struggled on the surface, Moeen was batting like a dream smashing 13 fours and 3 sixes.

In the run chase, Jos Buttler failed once again while Yashasvi Jaiswal’s excellent run continued. Sanju Samson played a scratchy 20-ball 15 but the big wicket of Devdutt Padikkal was snared by Moeen himself.

The wily off-spinner floated one up on the middle and leg stump, prompting Padikkal to attempt a sweep. The tall batter missed completely and the ball kissed the stumps to dislodge it and mark Moeen’s first wicket of the match.
