Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been almost unstoppable in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). Everything has gone well for them so far and they will be hoping to clinch their third IPL title.

KKR have not won the title since 2014 and would be desperate to go all the way this season. For the first time in their history, the two-time IPL champions have finished at the top of the points table. They have qualified for the playoffs with an impressive 20 points from 14 games.

The Shreyas Iyer-led side won nine games and lost three while the remaining two were washed out. Apart from finishing at the top of the points table, KKR have also created history by finishing the league stage with the best net run-rate by a team in the history of the IPL.

KKR have finished their league stage campaign with a stunning net run-rate of +1.428. The record was previously held by Mumbai Indians for finishing the league stage in IPL 2020 with a net run rate of +1.107. KKR also became only the third team in the IPL history to have a net run rate of +1 or more.

The first team to achieve this feat is Mumbai Indians who did it in 2010 before repeating the feat in 2020. In 2015, Royal Challengers Bengaluru also had a net run rate of over 1.
