Riyan Parag lost his cool and slammed his bat on the ground after missing out on a well-deserved half-century in the ongoing game between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

The right-handed batsman walked out to bat on his home ground when RR were reeling at 40 for 2 in the seventh over. Sam Curran castled Yashasvi Jaiswal for just 4 runs in the first over to give PBKS a flying start. In the seventh over, Nathan Ellis dismissed the in-form RR captain Sanju Samson for 18 to put PBKS in the driver's seat.

Two runs later, RR suffered yet another blow when Tom Kohler-Cadmore was dismissed by Rahul Chahar for 18. The onus was on Riyan Parag to bail his team out of trouble and the local boy did not disappoint. He shared a 50-run stand with Ravichandran Ashwin for the fourth wicket to steady the ship.

After Ashwin's dismissal, RR kept losing wickets at regular intervals but Riyan Parag stood firm at one end. He was looking set to take RR to a 150-plus total but failed to stay till the end. Harshal Patel dismissed him on the second ball of the final over to dash his hopes of scoring a fifty in front of the home ground.

Riyan Parag was batting on 48 runs when he was trapped in front of the wicket. Harshal bowled a full toss and the RR batter was deceived by the lack of pace in the delivery. Riyan Parag swung his bat early and the ball went on to hit him on the pads before the on-field umpire adjudged him out.

The decision was referred to the third umpire to confirm that it was not a waist-high full toss. The official did not take long to adjudge the delivery as a legitimate one. And as Parag saw the decision, he could not control his anger and disappointment as he slammed his bat against the ground.
