The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 'Eliminator' match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. However, the match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals has garnered attention due to some activities ahead of the upcoming match.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) played in the Qualifier 1 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, May 21. RCB and RR couldn't utilize the stadium for training. The two franchises were offered the University Ground in Ahmedabad as an alternative practice venue.

The Sanju Samson-led team trained at the University Ground between 4 and 6 p.m. while the Royal Challengers canceled their training session without providing any explanation, leading to curiosity among fans.

Reports claimed that Virat Kohli receiving a serious security threat was the reason behind the cancellation of the net session. However, CricketNext confirmed that RCB's decision wasn't related to any terror threats to Virat Kohli.

We Were Not Told About Any Terror Threat - Gujarat Cricket Association official

As per a CricketNext report, a Gujarat Cricket Association official stated that they were not informed about any terror threat by RCB and that arrangements were made for both RR and RCB at the University Grounds. The official stated that RCB's training was canceled before the suspects were arrested.

“We were not told about any terror threat by the RCB. They canceled the training before the suspects were arrested. We made arrangements for both RR and RCB at the University Grounds, and RR even trained in the evening hours. So many spectators attended the match last evening in Ahmedabad, and there is no reason to panic,” says a Gujarat Cricket Association official.

There Was Nothing Scheduled At The Venue - BCCI Official

Before the KKR vs SRH match, the BCCI announced that there would be no practice or pre-match press conference as both teams were traveling. No information was provided regarding RR vs RCB, and no pre-match press conference was scheduled.

A BCCI official clarified that if there had been a press conference, it would have been announced for all games, but nothing was scheduled at the venue due to an ongoing match.

“Had there been a press conference, it would have been announced as if it were done for all games. There was nothing scheduled at the venue because a match was going on,” says a BCCI official.

Meanwhile, another report in India Today claims that the practice session of the Faf du Plessis & Co. was canceled due to excessive heat in the city.

"They changed the time initially it was for 2-5 they asked for 4-6 we Said till 6:30 flood lights are available which is permissible that is not an issue but the weather was 45+ so they decided not to do the practice just for the sake of the players so that there will be no health issues. There was no issue related to any security threat," a top source in the Ahmedabad stadium has told Indiatoday.in.

"We also gave them the option of giving indoor practice arena but they said they will skip the session due to heat," he further added.
