Ruturaj Gaikwad guarantees CSK’s 6th IPL trophy in MS Dhoni's final season

The IPL 2026 season is all set to start from March 28. Ahead of the inauguration match of the season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad made a massive promise during the team's jersey launch event.
Ruturaj Gaikwad will continue as the captain of the five-time league winners in the upcoming season. Through the event, the star Indian batter promised to go for the sixth title in the IPL 2026 campaign.

At the team's jersey launch event, along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, U-19 Team India captain and CSK's young prodigy Ayush Mhatre was there on the stage, along with MD and CEO, Shenu Agarwal, and Chairman, Dheeraj Hinduja. Through the jersey launch programme, the franchise welcomes Ashok Leyland as the official sponsor of the team.
Locking the IPL 2026 season as the sole target, Chennai Super Kings has already begun their pre-season training at its High Performance Centre in Navalur under assistant coach Rajiv Kumar and assistant bowling coach S. Sriram. Gaikwad, former team captain MS Dhoni, Ayush Mhatre, Urvil Patel, Mukesh Choudhary, and Prashant Veer are some of the Indian cricketers who joined the camp on Saturday.
The overseas cricketers are expected to join the camp later this month. Former New Zealand cricketer and CSK head coach Stephen Fleming and bowling coach Eric Simons are expected to join the team by March 16.
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad promises to put in efforts to bring the sixth IPL title
Apart from the jersey launch and sponsorship announcement, the major highlight of the event was the brief speech of the CSK skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who said that no goal is unreachable. They will definitely go for the sixth IPL trophy in the upcoming season.
"Koi Manzil Door nahi hey (No goal is unreachable). Definitely, we will be going for the 6th title this year", Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said, followed by a huge applause from the attendants.
Chennai Super Kings won their fifth IPL trophy back in 2023. In the next two seasons, they had to sustain setbacs. In IPL 2024, they missed the playoffs only by a few margins. But their most disappointing encounter came during the IPL 2025 campaign, when they concluded the season as the bottom-most positioned team in the points table.
MS Dhoni stole the show at the Wankhede Stadium

Dhoni, the icon of Indian cricket and Chennai Super Kings, is all set to feature with the Yellow brigade for another season. According to speculations, IPL 2026 is going to be his last ever Indian Premier League season as a cricketer before announcing retirement.
