Ryan ten Doeschate reunites with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) within 24 hours after stepping down as the Indian Men's assistant coach.
The former Netherlands national cricket team player is set to carry a bigger role compared to his previous stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders. Doeschate previously served as the fielding coach of KKR from 2022 to 2024, and this time he has been appointed Head of Cricket Strategy at Knight Riders Sports.

He will oversee cricket strategy, talent acquisition and development at KKR and the rest of the Knight Riders franchises.

The media report informs that, in his second stint with the Knight Riders, the former cricketer will be involved in overseeing cricket strategy, talent identification, player recruitment, squad planning and performance evaluation across the Knight Riders operations.
Knight Riders confirms Ryan ten Doeschate's appointment
Confirming the appointment, Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore stated that Ryan ten Doeschate, with all his experiences across franchise cricket and international cricket, will play a pivotal role in the growth of the franchise's worldwide ecosystem.
"We are delighted to welcome Tendo back to the Knight Riders family. His deep understanding of our philosophy, combined with his experience across franchise and international cricket, makes him ideally suited for this role. He will help shape the next phase of growth across the Knight Riders ecosystem," Venky Mysore said.
Additionally, Ryan ten Doeschate will have to work as the assistant coach of the Trinbago Knight Riders (Caribbean Premier League), Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ILT20) and Los Angeles Knight Riders (Major League Cricket).
Doeschate himself is excited about his new job at the Knight Riders. He is delighted as he gets the opportunity to work closely with the coaching and analytics teams across different franchise leagues.

Why did Ryan ten Doeschate decide to leave Team India?
Earlier this month, it was widely reported that the former cricketer wanted to leave Team India because of personal reasons. As the Men in Blue travel a lot throughout the year, it became a little bit hectic for him. As Doeschate wanted to spend more time with his family, he was in search of a role which requiered less travelling time.
On July 28, the departure of the Dutchman from the Indian cricket team was officially confirmed, and soon after his departure from the team, his arrival in the Knight Riders camp was also confirmed.
