The India Women’s National Cricket Team is currently playing Zimbabwe for an ODI series. Amidst this, out-of-action player Sabbhineni Meghana has announced her retirement from all forms of the game. She called her career to an end on Friday after being out of the Women in Blue squad for four years. She called it an end at the age of 30.
S Meghana was a top-order batter; she last played in 2022 and did not make much impact in the Women in Blue squad, and was thus dropped after playing just 20 games across the white-ball format. She last played in the WPL 2025 and, after that, did not play much cricket. She was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad.
"My heart is overflowing with gratitude": S Meghana on retirement
S Meghana, while writing on her Instagram, firstly was honoured to have played the game, as she believes that wearing the Team India jersey was a dream come true, and as she announces her retirement at 30 she is overwhelmed, as the field taught her to develop as a person.
She posted on her Instagram, "Stepping onto the field for the very first time with a bat in hand to wearing a jersey on the world stage has been nothing short of a dream come true."
