The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has officially revoked the three-year ban imposed on former India fast bowler S. Sreesanth. The decision came after S Sreesanth submitted an unconditional apology, expressing regret for his public remarks against the state cricket body on social media and other platforms.

The KCA suspended Sreesanth in April 2025, ahead of the state league tournament. After the Thiruvananthapuram Munsiff Court dismissed his legal challenge, the KCA's Special General Body met on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and unanimously decided to lift the ban, allowing him to return to cricket activities.

S Sreesanth Cleared to Continue as Aries Kollam Sailors Co-owner

The Kerala Cricket Association's decision to lift the ban allows S Sreesanth to continue as the co-owner of Aries Kollam Sailors in the third season of the Kerala Cricket League. The move removes the uncertainty surrounding his role with the franchise.

The KCA had imposed the three-year ban just before the previous edition of the Kerala Cricket League, putting Sreesanth's involvement with the team in doubt. With the suspension now revoked, he is free to resume his responsibilities with the franchise.

However, the KCA also issued a warning along with its decision. The board said that any similar misconduct in the future could lead to fresh disciplinary action against the former India fast bowler.

Unanimously Decided to Revoke the Ban - Kerala Cricket Association on S. Sreesanth

S. Sreesanth initially challenged the three-year ban in the Thiruvananthapuram Munsiff Court. However, after the court dismissed his petition, the former India pacer submitted an unconditional apology to the Kerala Cricket Association, expressing regret for his public remarks against the board.

During its Special General Body meeting, the KCA reviewed Sreesanth's apology before making its final decision. The members accepted that he had shown genuine remorse and unanimously agreed to revoke the ban, bringing the disciplinary action to an end.

"Considering that he had expressed unconditional regret, the meeting unanimously decided to revoke the ban," the Kerala Cricket Association said in its official statement.

S Sreesanth's International Career and Domestic Career

S Sreesanth represented India in all three formats. The right-arm pacer took 87 wickets in 27 Tests at an average of 37.59, including three five-wicket hauls. His best match figures in Test cricket were 8/99.

He also impressed in limited-overs cricket, claiming 75 wickets in 53 ODIs, with career-best figures of 6/55. Sreesanth added seven wickets in 10 T20Is while representing India.

The 43-year-old also built an excellent domestic record. He took 213 wickets in 74 first-class matches, 124 wickets in 92 List A games, and 54 wickets in 65 T20s. Sreesanth also played more than 40 IPL matches for Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals.

His career suffered a major setback after the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal, which led to a lengthy suspension. However, the Supreme Court later cleared him of all criminal charges, and his BCCI ban ended in 2020.

Recently, Sreesanth again spoke about his relationship with Harbhajan Singh. He claimed Harbhajan was unhappy when Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) signed him for a big amount in the IPL
