Australia opener David Warner scripted history in Australian cricket as an opener with his century against South Africa in the SA vs AUS 2nd ODI on Saturday (September 9).
David Warner scored 160 runs off 93 balls to give a fabulous start to the team. During his knock, he shattered 12 fours and 3 sixes to take Australia to a mammoth total of 392 in the first innings.

David Warner Becomes First Australian Opener To Smack 20 Centuries
With his marvelous ODI century against South Africa, David Warner has become the first Australia opener to smack 20 centuries. David Warner has proved his might just at the right time. When there have been talks among selectors about whether to drop him as an opener, the left-handed batsman has showcased that he still has a lot of blood in his bat.
Talking about the AUS vs SA match, Warner and Head slammed a superb opening partnership of 109 runs for the first wicket. Travis Head also slammed a fabulous knock of 64 runs. One down Mitchell Marsh got out for a duck.
However, Marnus Labuschagne arrived with another incredible century of 124 runs. Josh Inglis added 50 runs to take the scoreboard to a gigantic total of 392-8 in 50 overs.
South Africa bowlers totally collapsed against an impeccable batting show against Australia. Tabraiz Shami picked 4 wickets. Marco Jansen picked 1 wicket while Kagiso Rabada grabbed 2 scalps. Phehlukwayo picked 1 wicket in his kitty.
However, all the bowlers exceeded an economy rate of 6 plus. Nortje was the most costly with his economy rate of 11.60. Kagiso Rabada was next with leaking runs at an economy of 8.80.
During the chase, opener Quinton de Kock slammed 45 while his opening partner shattered 46 runs to give a good start to the team. Both of them added 81 runs for the 1st wicket.
However, one-down Temba Bavuma, who gave a superb performance in the last match, could only score 17 runs this time. Heinrich Klaasen (49) and David Miller added some more runs towards the end. However, they were helpless against such a gigantic target ahead of them.
For Australia, bowlers Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie, and Nathan Ellis picked 2 wickets each. Adam Zampa picked up a 4-wicket haul. In the end, South Africa was bowled out for 269 and lost the match by 123 runs. Marnus Labuschagne won the Player of the Match award.
