Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) new Twenty20 League (SA20) will start in South Africa from January 10 to February 11, 2023. The league provides a platform for young South African cricketers as well as foreign players in top teams from around the world. Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed “Baby AB de Villiers” Dewald Brevis for their MI Cape Town franchise in the upcoming CSA T20 challenge.
The SA20 tournament begins on January 10, 2023 with Paarl Royals taking on MI Cape Town at the Newlands Cricket Ground. Six teams in the league, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Mumbai Indians Cape Town, Pretoria Capitals, Paarl Royals, Johannesburg Super Kings, and Durban Super Giants, will compete in 33 games over four weeks for the inaugural title.

SA20 Comes At A Really Good Time For South African Cricket – AB de Villiers
In an exclusive interview with SA20, South African legend AB de Villiers said that SA20 will change the dynamics of South African cricket and that the experience of such a league in the country will benefit the youngsters. The former South Africa captain is looking forward to seeing the young Proteas batsmen excel in the SA20 league, especially Dewald Brevis.
“I think that the SA20 comes at a really good time for South African cricket and we’ve seen the amazing things that these leagues have done to cricket in the particular nations, to give our youngsters the space and the foundation to get the exposure at the highest level against the best players in the world, is what it’s all about,” the former Protea captain said.
“It’s great to have the Indian people involved, the investors and some of the larger companies. I think there are a lot of young players that have come through in the last few years. I think of the very first up on my list, Dewald Brevis. Looking forward to watch him play and a few other youngsters that have performed really well,” he added.
