Life comes full circle for Indian cricket in the West Indies: Sachin Tendulkar after India wins ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Well, this T20 World Cup triumph held special significance for Indian head coach Rahul Dravid, who faced heartbreak in the 2007 ODI World Cup in the West Indies before missing out on the 2011 World Cup triumph as a player.

Notably, Dravid’s strategic acumen and mentorship were instrumental in India’s successful campaign, and Tendulkar said that he is really happy for his friend, saying he deserved to lift the World Cup.

Reflecting on India’s journey, the Master Blaster recalled the memories of the 2007 ODI World Cup heartbreak and the pride of winning the fourth World Cup, saying they indeed came full circle.

Sachin Tendulkar wrote in his tribute post for Team India on X: “Every star added to the Team India jersey inspires our nation’s starry-eyed children to move one step closer to their dreams. India gets the 4th star, our second in @T20WorldCup. Life comes full circle for Indian cricket in the West Indies.

From our lows in the 2007 ODI World Cup to becoming a cricketing powerhouse and winning the T20WC in 2024. Very happy for my friend Rahul Dravid, who missed out on the 2011 World Cup win but his contribution to this T20 World Cup victory has been immense. I am so so happy for him.”

Sachin Tendulkar hails Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Virat Kohli's contributions to India's success

Tendulkar also hailed Rohit Sharma for his incredible captaincy in the tournament, saying his ability to rally the team after the disappointment of the 2023 ODI World Cup showcased not just leadership but resilience. Under his captaincy, the Indian players found renewed motivation and unity and went on to become the T20 World Cup 2024 champions.

Jasprit Bumrah was the key behind India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, and the former Indian skipper said that he deserved Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances throughout the mega ICC event.

He delivered crucial breakthroughs when it mattered most for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The legendary cricketer also lauded Virat Kohli for his significant contribution with the bat when the team needed it the most in the final.

He noted, “What can one say about @ImRo45? Superb captaincy! To put the 2023 ODI World Cup loss behind and to keep all our players motivated towards the T20 World Cup is commendable. @Jaspritbumrah93's Player of the Tournament award as well as @imVkohli's Player of the Match award are both well-deserved. They were just superb when it mattered.”

A total team effort: Master Blaster hails Team India's coaching staff

Tendulkar also highlighted the crucial contributions of the Indian coaching staff, including bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and batting coach Vikram Rathour, both of whom made their international debuts alongside him in 1996. Their collective experience and wisdom formed the foundation of Team India's success, fostering a culture of excellence and camaraderie.

He signed off by saying, “Along with Rahul, Paras Mhambrey and Vikram Rathour also made their international debuts in 1996. It was wonderful to see Team India excel under the guidance of this class of '96. A total team effort. Hearty congratulations to all the players, coaches, support staff, and @BCCI.”
