Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted a big total of 209/4 in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Shubman Gill led his team from the front once again, scoring 84 runs off 50 balls. On the other hand, veteran batsman Jos Buttler scored 50 off just 26 balls as the Titans posted a 200-plus total.

Sachin Tendulkar hails Vaibhav Suryavanshi:

After the Titans finished their innings on 209, not many were expecting the Royals to chase down the total at a venue where 200-plus totals are quite rare. Only one team had managed to chase down a 200-plus total in Jaipur in the past, with Sunrisers Hyderabad chasing down 215 in 2023.

The odds were firmly stacked against the Royals, but they went on to chase down the total inside 16 overs and by losing only two wickets. The architect of the dominant victory was Vaibhav Suryavanshi as the youngster smashed a record 35-ball century.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes the fastest Indian batter to score an IPL ton

Thanks to the knock, he became the fastest Indian to score an IPL century and also the youngest to score a century in men's T20. Suryavanshi also shared a 166-run stand with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal before being dismissed for 101. His knock came off just 38 balls and was studded with 7 fours and 11 sixes.

As the young opener became the talk of the town after his historic knock, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar took to X (formerly Twitter) to heap praise on him. The former India batsman also talked about Suryavanshi's technique that helped him play the iconic innings, writing:

"Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings.

"End result: 101 runs off 38 balls. Well played!!"
