Sam Curran Bought By Chennai Super Kings For INR 2.40 crore at IPL Auction 2025

Sam Curran has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The England allrounder plied his trade for Punjab Kings in the last season of the IPL.

Barring the 2022 season, Curran has played in every season of the IPL since 2019. His IPL journey began with Punjab Kings in 2019. In his first season, the fast-bowling allrounder played 9 games and scored 95 runs including a fifty. With the ball, he picked up 10 wickets.

Ahead of the 2020 season, he was signed up by Chennai Super Kings. Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, Curran enjoyed a fine outing with both bat and ball. He picked up 13 wickets and scored 186 runs. In IPL 2021, he played 9 games and picked up 9 wickets in addition to scoring 56 runs.

Curran missed the 2022 season due to a back injury before returning to action in the IPL with Punjab Kings in 2023. In his comeback season, Curran played 14 games and scored 276 runs in addition to taking 10 wickets.

In IPL 2024, he picked up 16 wickets and scored 270 runs with the help of two fifties. He also led the Punjab-based outfit in a number of games.

Sam Curran will once again play for Chennai Super Kings after being bought by them in the IPL 2025 auction. The five-time champions signed up the England allrounder for INR 2.40 crore. Lucknow Super Giants made just a single bid before pulling out. With Punjab Kings not exercising the RTM option, the Super Kings got their man.
