Uttar Pradesh skipper Sameer Rizvi etched his name in the record books after his stellar performance with the bat in the Men's U23 State A Trophy. The right-hander slammed the fastest double-century in the history of the tournament.

The bowlers of Uttar Pradesh then completed the job as they restricted the Tripura team to a total of 253 runs to win the game by 152 runs and gain important points in the Men's U23 State A Trophy as he led from the front in the game, which took place in Vadodara.

This knock of his, however, won't be counted in the List A record. The record for the fastest double century in List A cricket is currently held by New Zealand’s Chad Bowes. He broke the record of India’s Narayan Jagadeesan and Australia’s Travis Head. Both batters achieved the milestone of 114 balls during the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Marsh Cup, respectively.
