The IPL trade window is live, and the trades will be taking place until the start of the next season of the IPL. This time around, the player retentions are to be announced, while several players have been lined up for a trade between the teams.

Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Capitals have been actively involved in the trade window after the teams failed to put on a promising performance in the last season of the IPL.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, have considered releasing their players to associate with further big names in the mini-auction.

Sanju Samson's deal with the Delhi Capitals is likely to get cancelled

After Sanju Samson, the Indian wicket-keeper batter, asked his former franchise, the Rajasthan Royals, to release him ahead of the mini-auction, as he wants to explore his options among the other teams.

Samson drew the attention of several franchises, but due to the unfair demands of the Rajasthan Royals, they could not land a trade deal for them. Finally, his former franchise, the Delhi Capitals, showed interest in having Sanju Samson and the Royals looked content with the deal.

The Royals demanded Tristan Stubbs and another uncapped player from the Capitals' setup; however, the deal might not happen, as Kushan Sarkar reports that it might not happen due to the Delhi Capitals' unwillingness to release Stubbs from their squad.

Delhi Capitals refuse to part ways with Tristan Stubbs and KL Rahul

Another major speculation had taken over the internet: that the Delhi Capitals might be considering releasing their marquee batter from the last season. KL Rahul was gathered in the mega-auction and went on to add the highest runs for the Capitals in IPL 2025.

The Kolkata Knight Riders made several attempts to include KL Rahul in their squad, as they are on the quest for an opening batsman as well as a wicket-keeper, after Quinton de Kock could not come in handy last season.

However, now, as per reports, the Capitals rejected all their deals for KL Rahul and are not willing to let go of their most experienced player and highest run-scorer.

Samson might be a luring bid in the IPL mini-auction

Sanju Samson, the wicket-keeper, would be in much demand if he entered the IPL mini-auction. If the Sanju Samson deal gets cancelled, then he would be one of the highest-bidding players of this IPL mini-auction.

The likes of the Chennai Super Kings, the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders, who are exploring options for an Indian wicket-keeper batter, might be looking forward to bearing the cost of any amount to have him on their side.

Samson can also be a captaincy option for teams like the Capitals and the Knight Riders as well, who have reported to part ways with their former skipper, Ajinkya Rahane.
