Sarfaraz Khan has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 75 lakh. He last played in the IPL in 2023.
Even though Sarfaraz has been one of the best batsmen in domestic cricket in recent years, he has not replicated that performance in the IPL. Unsurprisingly, he has struggled to get a regular chance in the tournament so far.
The right-handed batsman's IPL journey began with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2015. In his debut season, he played 13 games and scored 111 runs at a strike-rate of 156. Sarfaraz Khan captured the attention of the cricketing world with his unorthodox batting.
He played 5 games in 2016 and 7 games in 2018 for the Bengaluru-based outfit before being released. From 2019 to 2021, Sarfaraz played for Punjab Kings but struggled to impress. In his first season, the Mumbai star scored 180 runs before scoring 33 and 0 in the following two seasons.
In IPL 2022 and 2023, he was a part of the Delhi Capitals. In those two seasons, Sarfaraz played 10 games and scored 144 runs. He had gone unsold in the 2024 auction.
