The India National Cricket Team has defended its gold medal in the cricket event, as they defeated the Pakistan National Cricket Team in the final. This is yet again a historic win for the Men in Blue over their arch-rivals. After India’s win, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has taken a swipe at Men in Green.

This is a historic double for the India cricket team as the women’s team also won the Gold Medal after they defeated Sri Lanka in the final. Now, after Shreyas’s side won the game, just like last edition, they won the double gold medal in the cricket event, which showcases India’s dominance in cricket on the Asian continent.

Irfan Pathan trolls Pakistan

Irfan Pathan posted on X(formerly Twitter), congratulating India’s win over Pakistan. He also took a dig at the Pakistan team, stating that it has been routine for India in recent times to defeat Pakistan in the major tournaments. Irfan Pathan has been vocal about trolling the Men in Green side over the past few years and has celebrated wins against them.

Irfan Pathan stated, "GOLD it is for Team India. Solid win vs Pakistan yet again. Saturday ho ya Sunday har roz apne hi funde (Whether it’s Saturday or Sunday, it’s the same old routine every day)."

India dominates Pakistan

India has won 10 out of their last 10 full matches against the Men in Green across T20Is and ODIs. This showcases their dominance against Pakistan. The last time the Men in Green won a match against the reigning T20 World Cup champions was back in 2022 in the Asia Cup.

Only once have they defeated them in the World Cup, in 2021 in the T20 format. The Men in Blue also have a better record in the finals against the Men in Green, as they have won four out of the 7 finals against Pakistan across various series and major competitions.
