Saud Shakeel Expresses Reluctance To Lead Pakistan Team At This Moment

Pakistan middle-order batter Saud Shakeel has expressed his dedication to contributing to Pakistan’s success in the upcoming Test series against Australia. Saud Shakeel highlighted that his main goal is to contribute to the team’s success rather than personal milestones.

Shakeel has made an impressive start to his international career, amassing 875 runs in seven Tests at an impressive average of 87.5. The southpaw achieved a remarkable feat by scoring fifty or more in each of his first seven Test matches, becoming the first batter to do so.

I Have Practiced My Special Skills Recently – Saud Shakeel

In a recent interview with a local news channel, Saud Shakeel emphasized that his preparation focuses on scenarios likely to be encountered in the Tests and practicing specific skills.

“Whenever you go on any tour, you prepare accordingly and try to prepare for the scenarios that you are likely to encounter, and you practice in accordance with the Tests that you will be facing. In the same way, I have practiced my special skills recently as well,” Shakeel said.

“I don’t think in a way that I have to score centuries or become the top scorer. My personal goal is to contribute to the team’s victory whenever I perform,” he further stated.

My Entire Focus Is On Winning Matches – Saud Shakeel

The 28-year-old batter emphasized that his current focus is solely on contributing to Pakistan’s victories. He stated that he is not currently considering captaincy, despite having experience as a captain in age-group cricket.

“If you’re talking about age group cricket, then yes, I have captained. However, right now, I’m not thinking about these things because it’s the early stage of my career. My entire focus is on winning matches for Pakistan whenever I perform,” Shakeel concluded.
