United States of America’s (USA) Major League Cricket T20 (MLC) in partnership with the Knight Riders Group (KRG) and the City of Irvine in South Carolina on Friday announced the approval of building a world-class cricket stadium with a capacity of 10,000.
According to a Cricbuzz report, the venue will be built over a 15-acre tract of land in the city’s Great Park which spreads over 1300 acres and houses an array of other sporting venues.
According to an FPJ report, the development would see a multi-million dollar investment, and the internationally renowned architects HKS will design an iconic home for the sport in the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.
MLC officials are confident to get the venue ready with the construction and accreditation by the International Cricket Council (ICC). That means the venue could be considered for holding matches for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the USA and West Indies.
