Shaheen Afridi, Iftikhar Ahmed Engaged In Major Fight During India vs Pakistan Asia Cup Clash - Reports

Things are getting bad from worse in the Pakistan Cricket Team. Days after reports of a verbal spat between Shaheen Afridi and captain Babar Azam hogged the headlines, the latest reports have taken the cricketing world by storm.

As per the reports in BBN sports, it is learned that during the Super Four clash between India and Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed had a major fight during the rain halt on 10th September. The duo exchanged harsh words in the Pashto language.

The reports suggested that Shaheen Afridi was the main culprit behind the fight. The things between the two started when umpires came to the Pakistani dressing to inform them about the match scenario after rain. The officials were explaining things to keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan.

The reports added that Iftikhar Ahmed was alongside Mohammad Rizwan as well and was keenly listening to umpires. It was then that Shaheen Afridi passed a comment to Iftikhar and insulted him. The pacer reportedly told his teammate that there’s no need for him in this discussion as it’s not at all concerned with him.

Iftikhar Ahmed however, didn’t like the comment as he too said harsh words in reply. Skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan then stepped in and sorted the issues between the two. However, the all-rounder didn’t talk to the pacer after that for the next 3-4 days.

But after a few days, team management along with captain Babar Azam again sorted the issues between the duo and made them friends again. If the reports emerge to be true the indifferences between the players ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023 would be the biggest concern for them.

After the loss against Sri Lanka that eliminated Pakistan from Asia Cuo 2023, various media reports suggested that Babar Azam in the dressing room accused the team of not playing responsibly. This didn’t go well with Shaheen Afridi, who interrupted his skipper in the middle of the speech.

Shaheen Afridi reportedly told Babar Azam that he should at least appreciate who bowled and batted well. The captain, however, didn’t like interruption and said ‘I know who’s performing well’. This forced Mohammad Rizwan and the head coach to interrupt and stop the argument between the duo.
