Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi has finally opened up about the Pakistan duo Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan, who received criticism for making unwanted gestures during the Asia Cup fixture against India.

The India vs Pakistan Super-4 clash in the Asia Cup 2025 marked several heated moments in the game. Although the game looked one-sided in favour of the Men in Blue, the Pakistani players have taken several other means to mock the Indian fans and players.

Haris Rauf, the fast bowler, was their most successful bowler in the match. He was seen and later criticized for making a controversial gesture indicating the jet crash, which Pakistan had falsely claimed early during the state of war with India. Sahibzada Farhan also celebrated with a gun celebration following his fifty.

"Honestly, everyone has the right to express the way they want to" - Shaheen Afridi backs teammate on controversial act

Following the Super-4 clash against Sri Lanka, the Pakistan paceman Shaheen Afridi has opined on the gestures from Rauf and Farhan on the field.

"Look, our job is to play cricket. Honestly, everyone has the right to express the way they want to," Shaheen Afridi said when asked about the criticism that Haris and Sahibzada have received for their acts against India.

The paceman clearly looked to lower the uproar that was caused by the on-field behaviour of the Pakistanis, as he said, "Everyone has their own thoughts. Everyone has their own respect. Everyone thinks the way they think. But our job is to play cricket. And we have come to win the tri-nation Series. We have come to win the Asia Cup. And we, God willing, as a team, are doing our best."

"We will see when they reach the final" - Shaheen Afridi's open challenge for India

The Pakistan team, despite all mockery, has lost two consecutive matches to the Indian side in this edition of the Asia Cup. The two teams might potentially be facing off again in the final of the tournament.

Though none of the finalists have been confirmed, India, which is a dominant force in the continental championship, can be assured of retaining one of the two places in the Asia Cup final. Shaheen has, though, expressed great belief in his team's ability to defeat India if the two teams meet in the title decider on the coming Sunday.

"They have not reached the final yet. We will see when they reach the final. We have come here to win the final and win the Asia Cup," he said.

Pakistan are one step away from the Asia Cup final after knocking out Sri Lanka

The Pakistan national team is just one step away from the Asia Cup 2025 finals. They lost their first Super-4 match against India but then pulled off a stunning comeback against Sri Lanka.

The game marked some great bowling from the Pakistani pacers, while Shaheen Afridi picked 3 wickets in the match. After a good show with the ball, they won the match with Hussain Talat and Mohammad Nawaz adding some invaluable runs with their match-winning partnership.
