Bangladesh National Cricket Team all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has come under serious scanner. As per the reports in the media, it is learned that legal notice has been sent to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), demanding the immediate removal of Shakib Al Hasan from the national team.
Notably, the legal notice that has been sent to the Bangladesh Cricket Board has cited the regulations of the International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations. The notice stated that as per the rules of the governing body, Shakib Al Hasan shouldn't be allowed to play international cricket since he is facing a criminal case.
Shakib on Friday (23rd August) hogged the headlines after reports suggested that the all-rounder had been accused in the murder case during the civil protests in Bangladesh. It was learned that the former captain of the team was among 147 accused people who are associated in connection with the case.
The murder case in which Shakib has been accused is of the death of a garment worker Mohammed Rubel. The reports claimed that the all-rounder is the number 28 accused in the FIR filed in connection to the alleged murder.
"In the case statement, the complainant alleged that some of the accused as per instruction directly or indirectly from some others opened fire while hundreds of students including Rubel were protesting at Ring Road in the Adabod area on August 5," the media report stated.
According to the FIR filed, it is learned that the deceased got injured after being hit by multiple bullets during the protest. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to injuries after two days. But in a massive development, it was learned that Shakib Al Hasan wasn't there in the country on 5th August.
The all-rounder was in Canada, captaining Bangla Tigers Mississauga in the Global T20 Canada league in Brampton. He, however, is not the only big name in the FIR as along with former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a few former ministers and lawmakers have been accused.
Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Shajib Mahmood Alam sent a legal notice to the BCB, demanding a ban on Shakib Al Hasan
Amid all the fuss, a report in bdcrictime.com claimed that Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Shajib Mahmood Alam was the one who sent a legal notice to the BCB and demanded the immediate removal of Shakib from the national team.
Shakib Al Hasan is currently part of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team for the ongoing Test match against the Pakistan National Cricket Team. The game has seen four days and is currently taking place at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Shakib Al Hasan has failed to make an impact in the game both with the bat and ball. The all-rounder in the first innings picked just one wicket with the ball and also couldn't make a bigger impact with the bat. He scored 15 runs and now will be keen to contribute to his team in the second innings.
