Pakistan suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of West Indies in the second Test at Multan as the two-match Test series ended 1-1. After the loss, they were blasted for their poor performance by the former cricketer Basit Ali.
Basit lashed out at the team's captain Shan Masood claiming that he is trying to carry friendships instead of speaking the truth. The former Pakistan batter also slammed the bowling coach Abdur Rehman for his earlier comment.

Basit Ali slams Shan Masood
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Basit Ali shared his thoughts on Pakistan's performance. He alleged the team's captain Shan Masood for trying to carry friendships and challenged him to speak the truth.
"I was looking at the captain (Shan Masood) interview. He told Babar batted well and Rizwan played well in the first innings. Do not carry friendships here. Speak what is the truth. If you cannot talk the truth then step down by yourself," Basit said.
Shan Masood didn't have a great series as a captain as well as a batter. The left-handed opener scored 80 runs across two Tests at an average of 20 with a best of 52. His poor results have put a lot of pressure on him and raised questions over his future as a captain.
Basit Ali on Abdur Rehman's comments
In the same video, Basit Ali also slammed Abdur Rehman for his earlier comment in which he said that the bowlers got greedy and took their chances, Basit challenged Rehman to take the names clearly.
"I was looking at bowling coach Abdur Rehman's interview. He told the same thing that the bowlers were taking chances to get the batters out and they got greedy. He had to mention the names too - was it Noman, was it Sajid, was it Abrar, was it Salman Ali Agha," Basit said.
"He told that these guys are young and are learning. Make someone else a fool. If Sajid and Noman Ali are learning then salute to you," he added.
Basit Ali defends Aaqib Javed
Basit Ali also defended Aaqib Javed's decision to prepare spin-friendly pitches at home. However, he was angry on the team's batting coach for the poor selection of shots by the batters.
"There is lot of talk on Aaqib Javed as to why such pitches are being made. Have our batters forgotten to bat? Aaqib Javed made the pitches and gave a concept, but is their work over then?" Basit asked.
"The shots that Babar, Rizwan, and Saud played in the first innings and the shorts Hurraria and Kamran Ghulam hit in the second, did Aqib Javed tell them to do so? Where is the batting coach? he argued.
Pakistan finish last in the WTC cycle
It was a stunning defeat for Pakistan as they slumped to a new low in Test cricket. The Men in Green won the first match convincingly but West Indies came back strongly in the second Test to stun the hosts.
Pakistan prepared spin-friendly surfaces as they have done in their recent Test matches played at home. However, West Indies' spinners proved too much to handle on a rank turner at Multan. Shan Masood and his team finished last in this cycle of the World Test Championship.
