Shardul Thakur goes unsold at IPL Auction 2025

Shardul Thakur has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. A right-arm medium pacer and a handy lower-order batsman, the India star played for Chennai Super Kings in the last season of the IPL.
So far, he has played for five teams in the tournament - Punjab Kings, Rising Pune Supergiant, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders.
His journey began with Punjab Kings in IPL 2015. In his first season, Shardul played just one game and did not play any games in 2016. In 2017, he played 12 games while representing the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant. In those 12 games, he picked up 11 wickets.
From 2018 to 2021, Shardul played for Chennai Super Kings. During this period, he won two IPL titles with the Chennai-based franchise. In IPL 2018, he picked up 16 wickets before taking 8 and 10 wickets in the following two seasons.
His best season with the ball so far came in IPL 2021 when he picked up 21 wickets. In IPL 2022, Shardul Thakur played for Delhi Capitals. He picked up 15 wickets and scored 120 runs that season. In 2023, he was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders before returning to Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2024 season.
