Shashank Singh exposes Shreyas Iyer's weakness in the latter's house

A recent viral video on the official X handle of Punjab Kings saw skipper Shreyas Iyer and the retained uncapped player Shashank Singh indulge in a room cricket session.
The Punjab Kings captain, Shreyas Iyer, was seen with the bat in hand as Shashank Singh threw a challenge of scoring 12 runs in an over towards his skipper. Singh himself bowled the fun-loaded over and closed the over with an open-ended, intriguing question.
Shashank bamboozled Shreyas with a bouncer first up, while his next two deliveries were hit for two consecutive boundaries by the skipper. Though all of this is nothing but assumed, since this was played in the lobby with no actual boundaries or pitches.
With two dot balls, two fours, a wide, and a single off the first five balls, Shashank bowled the final delivery of the over as Iyer pulled it in the direction of square leg, and the players argued over whether it went for a six or the batter was caught short of the ropes.
Rain hits. No field? No problem.

Shashank Singh was among the two retained players for the Punjab Kings
Shashank Singh was among the two players retained by Punjab Kings ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Punjab Kings retained only two Indian uncapped players and went into the auction with the largest probable purse.
Shashank was a vital batter for them in IPL 2024, as a result of which he was retained for the next season as well. PBKS opener Prabhsimran Singh was also retained in the side as an uncapped player.
Both these players played a vital role for them in this season of IPL, as Prabhsimran scored crucial runs at the top of the batting order, and Shashank Singh was handed the finishing role by Shreyas Iyer and Ricky Ponting.
Shashank Singh's form in IPL 2025
Shashank Singh played two complete seasons with the Punjab Kings after his move into the side in the mini-auction of IPL 2024. Shashank Singh, who was mistakenly bought into the side by PBKS, turned out to be a blessing in disguise for them, as he scored 354 runs in IPL 2024.
He played a crucial role in PBKS' unique feat of pulling out a stunning victory over KKR when they chased a record 262 runs in their 20 overs.
Shashank was retained for this season and was also named the vice-captain of the side. He played all 17 matches of the season for the Punjab Kings, as he amassed 350 runs at an average of 50.00 and a hefty strike rate of 153.51.
Shreyas Iyer played most finals as the captain of different IPL franchises
Shreyas Iyer might have won just one title in the history of the IPL, but he is a unique skipper and is known for his abilities. The Mumbai batter has had a great run in domestic tournaments, for which he was brought back under the BCCI annual contract.
Shreyas played his first season as skipper back in IPL 2018, when he captained the Delhi side, while he led them to the title round for the first time in IPL 2020. Shreyas Iyer's Delhi Capitals lost to the Mumbai Indians in the final.
After this, Shreyas led Kolkata Knight Riders to another final in IPL 2024, where he won his first title both as a player and as a skipper in the history of the tournament. Next, captaining the Punjab Kings, he led them to the IPL final after almost a decade in the tournament.
Shreyas Iyer has played 3 finals in the IPL with three different franchises as their skipper. This is the record held only by the Indian middle-order batter.
